It's Friday! Yeah!

Happy weekend, everyone! Are you ready for it? I sure am!!! I'm planning lots of fun "ME time" since Andrew is headed out on a work trip to "play" with dirt bikes. Really sounds like hard work, huh, playing with dirt bikes! Poor Andrew!:)

Here are two rather simple but sweet cards I finished recently and haven't gotten around to posting yet. I left the main images solid colored to help the pattern papers stand out. They both use the June-release stamps from Our Daily Bread.

I'm really loving this Fishers of Men set! Not only are the sentiments great, but the images are great for guy cards, which I NEVER seem to make enough of! And don't ya just love this fish paper? I happened upon it at Archiver's a few weeks back. The little fish on the sentiment is a Jolee's embellishment.

It's very hard to see by the pic, but all the flowers have a touch of stickles on them. The images are stamped in Bashful Blue with the sentiment stamped in Brocade Blue. All the pretty pattern papers are by K&Company, which I just can't seem to get enough of!

I'm headed out the door now to do some "damage" at Michael's and AC Moore! Enjoy you evening! :)

At the Cross of Christ

Howdy ya'll! It's been a few days, huh? :) How is everyone? My Dad had surgery today to put his chemo port back in. He's very sore and please continue to hold him in your thoughts and prayers. His blood count is very low, meaning he has to be extra careful to stay away from any germs and such so he doesn't get sick. They said he should be able to come home tomorrow for a few days.

So are ya still wondering about that little teaser of a peek? Well guess what - you're gonna have to be patient just a tiny bit longer and all will be revealed! :) In the meantime, has anyone had a chance to see the 3 wonderful new sets being released tomorrow from Our Daily Bread Designs? There's a beautiful Thanksgiving set and the Lord's Prayer! One of the new sets, Cross of Christ, was designed by Dina, a fellow DT member and friend! I'm so excited for Dina and her first set! Here is a notecard giftset and mini clipboard keychain I created, using Dina's lovely stamps. Be sure to check out all the sweet creations with all 3 of the new sets from the rest of the design team. They are list on my side bar under the Our Daily Bread logo.

These 4 cards shown above, all fit into this sweet lil' plastic box below with envies. And where did I get such a great little clear giftbox, you ask? Well it's actually the plastic stamp case that Our Daily Bread smart cushion stamps arrive in. I've been eyeing the packages for a few weeks now, thinking that they would be wonderful to use for notecard packs. I made the attached tag from scratch by just kind of eyeballing it and slicing the corners off of the layers.

Hope you enjoyed seeing these creations! I sure enjoyed making them! Oh, ok, ok!! Here's a little bit larger view of my tiny peek. I used the Lord's Prayer stamp on it, which is also a new release from Our Daily Bread this month. Have a fabulous day! :)

Have a wonderful day!

Pretty Flowers ~ from Mom!

I had to share this beautiful floral hatbox with you all! My Mom is not a stamper but she is very crafty! She made this to match in our bedroom and it sits atop my jewelry armoire. I love it!

And while we're on my favorite subject of flowers.... Check out this gerbera daisy that's just burstin' with blooms - 9 blooms! I noticed how many there were this morning as we were on our way out the door to church. Little duckie stands watch over the flowers. :) Have a blessed Sunday! :)

Happy Fourth of July!

Just wanted to wish everyone a very safe and fabulous fun-filled Fourth of July!
We 're headed out to do some shopping, then to a cookout with friends and will be finishing off the day, watching the fireworks downtown. The pics are from Friday's Mudcats game that we went to on a church outing. Got rained on for about half the game but it cleared just in time for the fireworks at the end. :)

Beautiful Summer's Day

Hello everyone! Hope you have been enjoying a lovely week. It's been an eventful one here. Firstly, let me bring you up to date about my dear Daddy. He had a minor surgery on Wed. The docs came to the conclusion that his blood clot was caused by the chemo port in his chest - it's been in too long. After he finished another round of chemo, they removed it. It will be put back in on the other side, in a few weeks. My parents were also given quite a scare by the doctors this week. They told him he now had leukemia but that was soon cleared up - they had the wrong patient chart! Crazy, huh? Thank the Lord he doesn't have it and that he is doing pretty well! Thank you for all the prayers, cards and emails. Every one of them has been such a blessing!

Just about two months ago, I planted an assortment of wildflower seeds along the backside of our garage. As anyone knows, I just adore any and all kinds of flowers! I knew the seeds would take a while but that didn't stop me from checking the progress, almost daily! Yeah, I was super impatient, waiting for them to sprout! Finally I started to "forget" about them and this week I was greeted to a lovely sight. Not only had several different wildflowers bloomed but there seems to be a family of butterflies fluttering, all around them. Ahhhh.... so pretty and peaceful!

And now onto the card.... I was rummaging through a bunch of chipboard piece earlier this week and when I happened upon this Shakespeare quote, a card idea popped into my mind. So here it is. What better an image to go along with the lovely quote then a Thomas Kinkade scene? :)
Wishing you all a wonderful day! I'll be back soon!

ETA: This was supposed to post yesterday, but didn't for some odd reason! Oh well! :)

Friendly Song Birds

Hello! Lookie what I did! I'm so proud of myself - I got a challenge card done! And I really can't remember the last time that has happened on a Thursday, of all days! I took a peek at today's Ways to Use It and what do you know, I had just colored the popped-up bird and wasn't sure what I wanted to do with him. It actually didn't take long for him to meet some more friendly birds and hang out with them on this rather large card! And don't they all look so happy and sweet? The card measures 6x6 inches and the base is a piece of Strathmore Cold Press Watercolor paper and the patterns are from K&Company. You know I have always adored K&Com's papers but recently I seem to be reaching for them even more often - esp. from the Classic K Margo pad. The patterns are all so beautiful with a great vintage feel to them and the colors are wonderful to match up with. Anyway, it all looked a little too white though when I got it together so.... yeah, you know I had to sponge the edges. :)

Supplies Used: Stamps - Spring Song, Feathered Hope; Inks - Basic Brown, Walnut Stain, SU reinkers & Aqua Painter; Papers - Smooth & Watercolor White, Certainly Celery, Patterns by K&Company; Accessories - Stickles, Copper Brad, Pop Dots; Techniques - Sponging, Watercoloring.

Enjoy a fabulous day!
